This Privacy Policy describes how Foveal Vision, Inc. handles personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or reserve an OpenVector Station.
This policy applies to the OpenVector website, preorder experience, demonstrations, and communications that link to it (collectively, the “Services”). It does not replace any separate privacy terms that may accompany a future commercial Station or customer agreement.
1. Updates to this Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy as our Services, business, or legal obligations change. When we update it, we will post the revised version here and change the “Last updated” date above. We may provide an additional notice when an update materially changes how we handle personal information.
2. Personal information we collect
We collect information that you submit, information generated when you use the Services, and information supplied by service providers.
Information you provide
- Preorder information. When you reserve a Station, we collect your name, email address, ZIP code, preferred delivery-time payment plan, reservation reference, and the fact that you began a $100 deposit checkout.
- Payment information. Stripe processes the payment details used for the refundable Deposit. We receive transaction and status information needed to reconcile the Reservation, but we do not directly receive or store your complete card number.
- Communications. We collect the contact details and content you provide when you email us, request a demonstration, describe a use case, or otherwise communicate with us.
- Business information. If you contact us on behalf of an organization, we may collect your role, organization, locations, camera environment, deployment requirements, and related business details.
Information collected automatically
Our website and hosting providers may record device and usage information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, link interactions, approximate location derived from an IP address, and timestamps. This information is generally collected through ordinary server logs and similar web technologies.
Cookies and similar technologies
We and the providers that support the Services may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies for site functionality, security, fraud prevention, payment processing, and measurement. Third-party services you open from our site, including Stripe checkout, operate under their own privacy policies.
3. How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- create, manage, reconcile, and refund Station Reservations;
- communicate about product development, availability, demonstrations, installation, pricing, and Final Orders;
- evaluate whether a Station is suitable for a requested location or use case;
- provide, secure, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the Services;
- understand demand, plan production, and develop OpenVector products and services;
- detect misuse, fraud, security incidents, and violations of our agreements;
- comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and property of Foveal, our customers, and others; and
- send product or company updates where permitted by law, subject to your communication choices.
We may also use information for another purpose disclosed when it is collected, with your consent, or at your direction.
4. How we share personal information
We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We use providers for website hosting, Google-based form and spreadsheet processing, payment services such as Stripe, communications, security, professional advice, and related operational support. They may process information for us under their own terms and contractual obligations.
- Business partners. We may share information with installation, manufacturing, logistics, or other partners when necessary to evaluate or provide a product or service you request.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our agreements, investigate fraud or security issues, collect amounts owed, or protect people, rights, and property.
- Business transactions. Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction.
- With your direction. We may share information when you ask us to do so or provide consent.
We may use and disclose aggregated or de-identified information where it cannot reasonably be linked to you.
5. Your privacy choices
- Reservation cancellation. You may cancel a Reservation and request return of the Deposit as described in the Pre-Order Agreement.
- Email communications. You may opt out of promotional emails by using an unsubscribe link where provided or contacting us. We may still send transactional messages about a Reservation or requested service.
- Browser controls. You can use browser settings to limit cookies and similar technologies, although doing so may affect site or checkout functionality.
- Privacy requests. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or other treatment of personal information. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
6. Children’s personal information
The Services are intended for businesses and adults and are not directed to children under 13 or any higher minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the Services, please contact us so we can review and address it.
