When a package is placed in the wrong storage location or outbound lane, notify the operations team and create a correction task with its expected destination, observed location, and camera evidence.
Connect identity to the assignment
Start with a package identifier from a barcode scan or readable label. Match it to the assigned shelf, staging area, or outbound destination in the warehouse or shipping record. Define the camera regions that correspond to those locations.
The camera observation supplies where the package went. The assignment record supplies where it should go. Keep both attached to the same package reference.
Catch the wrong outbound lane
A misrouted package enters a lane or loading area assigned to another destination. In this example, the assignment record places PKG-DEMO in Lane A while the camera view shows the parcel on Lane B. That mismatch creates a routing-correction task for the operations team.
A package entering its assigned lane needs no correction. Wait until the placement is clear: a package briefly passing through a lane on the way to another location is not a completed placement.
Find the misplaced package
A misplaced package is left on a shelf or in a staging area that differs from its assigned location. The same comparison can identify the location that needs checking without assuming the package has left the site.
This placement example keeps the package in Shelf B while its assignment remains Shelf A. The task identifies both locations so the team can find and move it.
Keep uncertain identity in review
If a label is unreadable, a package leaves camera view, or its assignment is unavailable, preserve the observation for review. Do not classify it as misrouted solely from its position. Recheck the current assignment when a package is deliberately rerouted.
Send a correction task with context
Include the package reference, expected destination, observed location, observation time, linked clip, and assignment reference. Notify the responsible team through the configured operations system, and keep the returned task reference connected to the event.
A created task records the software action. The team closes it after confirming the physical correction; the animation leaves the package at its observed location until then.
